Went back to school today with manda and Shirley to watch the teachers’ day performance and to wish our subject teachers’ happy teachers’ day! Haha. We decided to get gifts for them cos on Thursday we walked through sas and they were selling Cadbury chocolates. Haha. But it’s the thought that counts. (:
I have to say I’m super impressed and super proud of the 30th for doing such a wonderful job with the concert. I think their performance was fantastic it really required the cooperation of the whole council. As min said the 30th’s really organized and I have to agree. Well done 30th! Really want to sit down with kai and zhiyang someday and talk to them about their council term. I know it’s probably none of my business anymore but I’m just really interested to know how they’re doing. Haha.
Sitting in the CC going through what’s probably my last teachers’ day, memories of previous teachers’ days just flooded my mind. In pl where my super enthusiastic pri 5 and 6 class would put up a performance each year for our teachers. Our form and Chinese teacher huang lao shi, our math and English teacher ms quek and our science teacher mrs khoo. I rmb in pri 6 we performed the sleeping beauty song once upon a dream for them and by the end of it all 3 of them were crying. I really miss my pri school teachers I think they were the best.
And of course I’ll never forget screwing up teachers’ day when I was in sec 3. I was in charge of the prefectorial board’s item and I choreographed this dance to jamelia’s superstar. I rmb being super stressed out during that period. Then on the day of the concert my cd screwed on me and we were stuck on stage like idiots. We were introduced twice and both times the cd didn’t work. I rmb crying like crazy when we went off stage.
And the best/worst period of my life: inSAINTly grateful, the teachers’ day concert planned by the 29th. Best cos it was a time where I really bonded with those who bothered staying back everyday till insane hours to paint the banner and when I could still laugh amidst the tiredness and stress. Laughing at iven and jordan’s lameness, being incredibly high in the sc where it almost became my first home, having fun doing something I believed in. Worst cos it was just so darn stressful and I was just about the most cranky irritable and emo person in school during that period. I cried so easily it’s ridiculous. It’s like you think with hard work everything will go smoothly but no in reality life’s just unfair and things are bound to screw up wake up girl.
Not to say our concert was bad or anything I mean the teachers’ praised us and everything (but they’re supposed to right?) but somehow you felt more relieved that it was over than happy that you did a pretty good job. Well that’s how I felt anyway. I dunno how something I felt so passionate about turned into something I felt as my responsibility no matter what my emotions were.
Ok just letting some pent up feelings out. Manda has been on the other end of my whining and being emo like forever. Haha. Thanks manda for always listening and asking if I needed to be emo with her even though she has no idea what's going on but i still tell her anyway. Haha. (:
The prospect of one week of studying makes my brain hurt. Haha. To all j2s study really hard and persevere for the next 3 months! (:
